What is the Health News Action?
Health News is a voice app designed for exploring health stories. This voice app showcases some features that can be used to create voice experiences for news and media sites. It was build with the amazing Jovo framework.
The the articles are sourced from the Harvard Health Blog, and all of the text content is analyzed automatically. Here is a post outlining some of the ways a voice app can be used to help blogs, which served as inspiration for voice app.

The Tech
The voice app was built using the Jovo framework which can be used for creating multimodal apps for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
The first step in creating the experience was analyzing the posts from the Harvard Health Blog. In short, we extracted the entities, concepts, and topics mentioned in each article using IBM Watson. We then used these to create a graph, stored in Neo4j. This graph is then queried to create “explainable” content recommendations.
